This website is a toolkit, to help you and your community positively influence your area of Birmingham.
It will guide you through the process of creating a Neighbourhood Plan.
It will signpost you to other tools - either to complement your Neighbourhood Planning work, or as alternative actions to make change happen where you live.
How to use this toolkit
Explore the Discover section to see whether a Neighbourhood Plan (NP) is the right tool for you and your community. Along the way, you’ll learn about other mechanisms for making change happen where you live.
If you decide to go ahead with an NP, use the Develop section for guidance on establishing a Neighbourhood Planning Forum, defining your Neighbourhood Area and drafting the policies that will constitute your NP.
The website contains lots of information about how you’ll engage with Birmingham City Council to submit your NP and - with time, refinement and hard work - have it brought into force as a legal document.

Lots of support is available, so you don’t need to be an expert in Neighbourhood Planning to get started.
